Microsoft® Office MVPs - The Big List

This is an attempt to gather together a single web site directory of all folks who are now, or have been in the past, designated as Microsoft MVP's. The product categories for which MVP's are recognized are listed below, and under each is an alphabetical list of past and present MVP's representing that product.

Briefly, MVPs are recognized by Microsoft for their willingness to share their knowledge on a peer-to-peer basis. This generosity is most generally offered within various online communities. Most MVPs do not appreciate unsolicited e-mail requests for help! These go against the goal of helping the most folks possible for the given investment of time and energy. Please, feel free to visit their sites, but don't pester them privately. You'll find all these folks active in the online communities, and that's the appropriate place to ask for help. Thanks for understanding!

If you have information you could share for this list, either updating an incorrect URL or requesting the addition/removal of a name/site from the list, please don't hesitate to send e-mail.

DTS-L.com

This website is about getting help solving computer problems and getting support for Microsoft products using the Microsoft Communities, or the NNTP equivalent, newsgroups.

Microsoft MVPs, like Kelly Theriot, author of Kelly's Korner, one of the web's premier XP support websites, and the rest of the members of DTS-L, are leaders in these forums, helping users with Microsoft products, as well as helping you to solve almost any computer problem.

DTS-L is one of a group of private mailing lists used by a group of Microsoft MVPs for the purpose of helping you get the answer to your computer related problems and questions. They can be found in Microsoft Support Newsgroups. MVPs are independent, they do not speak for Microsoft.

Although we're available via the Microsoft Communities, for far greater ease of use we highly recommend that use your NNTP reader, the same one you use for email, Outlook Express, or an alternative. If you click this link Start Reading NNTP you will see how the Windows XP forum looks in Outlook Express.

How and Why to Clear Your Cache - Often referred to as the cache, the Temporary Internet Files folder contains a kind of travel record of the items you have seen, heard, or downloaded from the Web, including images, sounds, Web pages, even cookies. Typically these items are stored in the Temporary Internet Files folder.

Storing these files in your cache can make browsing the Web faster because it usually takes your computer less time to display a Web page when it can call up some of the page's elements or even the entire page from your local Temporary Internet Files folder.

Communicate with Outlook Express 6 - Posted: February 02, 2004 - By Joli Ballew

How to Set Up Outlook Express - Before you can use Outlook Express to send and receive e-mail, you need to set up an account. You can have more than one account—for business, online shopping, and so on—and each person who uses your computer may have their own, completely separate account. Outlook Express gracefully handles it all.

Check, Respond To, and Print E-Mail Messages - Each time you start up Outlook Express, it automatically retrieves new e-mail messages and delivers them to your Inbox. And while Outlook Express is open, it periodically checks for new mail. It takes no more than a couple of mouse clicks to check your e-mail in any account—personal, Hotmail, work, and so on.

Compose and Send E-Mail Messages Using Outlook Express - With Outlook Express you can send your e-mail messages as soon as you write them, or you can compose a draft and return to it later to finish and send. And file size is just about the only limit on what you can enclose in a message—documents, pictures, even music and videos.

Create Your Outlook Express Address Book - The Address Book is designed as a separate program—though tightly integrated with Outlook Express—so it can be shared by other programs. It can store all the personal details you could want (and then some)—from name, address, and up to nine phone numbers (for the truly connected) to birthdays, nicknames, even a generous space for notes. And because it's electronic, you can say goodbye forever to marked-up, dog-eared address books because changes are made without a trace.

Getting News from Newsgroups - Tap into a group that shares your passion, and read all about it. After you set up a newsgroup account, find those newsgroups that match your interests, and then click your way to a wealth of information. Outlook Express can help you manage both your newsgroup interactions, as well as your e-mail communications.

Importing Items into Outlook Express - You can easily import items from other programs, like other mail clients and address book data, into Microsoft Outlook® Express.

Organize Outlook Express E-Mail Messages - Outlook Express starts out with a basic framework of folders (shown below) to help you organize your e-mail messages. You can build your own e-mail filing system on top of this set of virtual file drawers. Outlook Express folders behave pretty much as they do in Microsoft Windows Explorer, so you should have no trouble storing messages and deleting them, as well as creating and moving folders.

Personalize Your E-Mail Messages - Whether for special times of the year or for everyday correspondence, you can put your singular stamp on e-mail. Outlook Express lets you use a distinctive personal signature, unique text style, and even e-stationery.

Viewing and Posting to Newsgroups - A newsgroup is a collection of messages posted by individuals to a news server (a computer that can host thousands of newsgroups). You can find newsgroups on practically any subject. If you are new to newsgroups, read the Getting News from Newsgroups article to learn more about newsgroups and to configure a newsgroup account.

Work Offline with Outlook Express - Working offline in Outlook Express is useful for when you need to reduce time spent online or work with messages on your computer when you don't have an Internet connection readily available.
