Computer Gripes - This web site is devoted to what stinks about computer products (hardware, software, web sites); specifically to the problems I've experienced in using them. It exists because the errors, bugs, poor documentation, and occasional stupidity in the field drives me nuts.
These gripes are not product reviews, which typically describe the features of a product and what's good about it. Instead they fill in the gap, focusing exclusively on what's bad about a product. The intention here is not to rate or judge products, in fact, I continually use many griped about products.* 03/05/2004

Although we're available via the Microsoft Communities, for far greater ease of use we highly recommend that use your NNTP reader, the same one you use for email, Outlook Express, or an alternative. GeekTools.com - It seemed to us that we were always looking for a way to have all the external resources we use often, at our fingertips. And there were all sorts of cool tools that seemed to be in different places that kept moving and disappearing as people moved around the net, from company to company. So we decided to build a website, capable of being used by any browser including LYNX, with minimal color (16) and minimal resolution (640 x 480), with no cookies, or Java, for internal use, that had all those resources. And we decided to assign a couple of people to keeping it current, so that when something moved/died, we updated it.
Then friends started to use it.
So we thought we'd make it available to any engineer (or even clueful non-engineer) who might want to use it.
So here it is. Use it, but don't abuse it. And if you can think of ways to improve it, tell us. We don't promise to use your suggestions, but we will look at them.* 06/17/2003
